THE CORDUROY SUIT

For years now, the corduroy suit's ridges and valleys have appealed mainly to college professors, Wes Anderson wannabes, and the costume designer on That 70's Show. But this fall several luxury houses, like Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, and Ermenegildo Zegna, are taking a new approach to the durable classic, and the results should turn the heads of well-dressed men everywhere. The latest iteration is cut from a plush mix of cotton and cashmere and comes in gray, black, and chocolate brown. Grown up and slimmed down, this two-button suit has nothing in common with the bulky tan pants you wore to grade school. Courtney Colavita
