Designers often rely on a standard line—"classic with a twist"—when outlining their work. Yet the items the phrase is meant to characterize often fall short of the description. Every now and then, though, an article of clothing—like Calvin Klein Collection's dark seersucker blazer—truly embodies such a conceit. Rather than use the conventional rumpled blue-and-white-striped fabric, designer Italo Zucchelli chose an unexpected navy-and-black one. He then cut the summer-weight material into an appropriately trim silhouette, resulting in a modern jacket with a proven pedigree. Courtney Colavita
