Guys have traditionally had two options when it comes to sports watches: Strap on a hunk of shining Swiss engineering and look like an extra in a hip-hop video, or go digital (maybe with some neon shock absorbers) and look like an extra in a Wes Anderson film. Neither is particularly work-appropriate, which means you have to change out of your gym clothes and your watch before heading to the office. Now companies like IWC, Cartier, Movado, and Tissot have found a versatile, masculine solution: black-on-black models that come withbut don't flauntall the high-tech functions you want. Chronographic, water-resistant, and refined, with rotating bezels and sweatproof rubber wristbands, these sleek timepieces are rugged enough for adrenaline seekers but subtle enough for desk jockeys.
