The Tastemakers: White suits were prevalent on the runways of Milan and Paris this season, but one pair of designers seemed particularly smitten with the look. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana presented brisk one-buttons with polka-dot ties, tan leather sandals, and contrast-color shirts, proving that the white suit can be the ideal foil for atypical accents. According to Dolce, any guy can pull it off if he's got the confidence—and isn't as pasty as a glue stick. Still, Gabbana cautions, "Don't wear them to weddings—you risk upstaging the groom—or to job interviews."
Gucci
The Material: Crisp cotton, preferably voile with a matte finish, is a modern look. Steer clear of linen or anything with sheen, which can sleaze up even the best-cut suit.
