Pin-Dot Ties

1009-DE-STAC-02

In garment-speak, the peripherals—ties, watches, and socks—are called furnishings. It's an odd word, but it makes sense if you think about your suit as an empty house in need of décor. Striking accessories, like these understated pin-dot ties, bring out the character in your big purchase.

Size
They're called pin dots for a reason. The circumference of each circle should be around half a centimeter. Anything bigger and you're wading into Krusty the Clown territory.

Color
You're already subverting tradition by choosing spots instead of stripes, so stick with classic guy colors like navy, red, gray, and black.

Shirts and Suits
Pair pin dots with subtly striped shirts or equally subdued pinstripe suits. But avoid any patterns that are too bold, like gingham or Prince of Wales checks.
