Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski met famous Texas rock trio ZZ Top on Wednesday, ahead of their gig at Skopje's Boris Trajkovski Arena this evening.

Gruevski was the first to welcome the threesome upon their arrival to Skopje.

"We came to throw a great party and make lots of noise," the iconic U.S. band said during their audience with the premier.

ZZ Top are one of the few major rock acts to have been performing with same line-up for 40 years.

Composed of guitarist Billy Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill, and drummer Frank Beard, ZZ Top was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

The band's Skopje visit is part of their world tour. They have also made stops in nearby Belgrade and Sofia.

Rock stars have not been strangers to the premier's office. When he performed in Skopje in 2006, influential punk rock icon Iggy Pop also stopped in to pay Gruevski a short visit."
