Efraim Diveroli, Our Favorite Pot-Smoking Millennial Arms Dealer, Can't Stay Out of Trouble

diveroli.jpg

Remember Efraim Diveroli? He was the pot-smoking high-school dropout who secured a $300 million weapons contract with the Pentagon at the tender age of 21, got mixed up with a shady Albanian arms dealer, attempted to supply the U.S. Army with shoddily packaged ammunition from China, and, in the wake of a drunk-driving arrest and a New York Times investigation, was indicted for conspiracy and fraud. Which is pretty much where we left him.

But it seems he just can't stay away from the international arms trade. The Times is reporting that he was arrested Friday and charged with possession of firearms as a convicted felon and with possession of firearms while under indictment for a felony offense. According to the 18-page affidavit filed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, he was recorded in conversations with ATF agents describing his attempts to import weapons from South Korea, bragging about his stockpile of ammunition, and saying such delightful things as "once a gun runner, always a gun runner."

Last time Diveroli was arrested, the government later released $4.2 million in assets and his $100,000 car back into his possession. Maybe this time the Feds'll get luckier—but let's hope Diveroli doesn't lose any of his hilarious swagger in jail.
