Sure, if you want your board shaped or waxed just so, you're best off hitting the surf shops on Oahu's North Shore or, perhaps, somewhere within spitting distance of the Great Barrier Reef. But, between you, us, and the wall, we're more interested in looking like we just stepped out of a surf shop than actually riding the waves (after all, there's not a lot of big breakers near Times Square.) Makes sense then that our favorite local surf shop is down on Crosby Street right here in Manhattan. Saturdays NYC certainly does carry boards for those who want to hit the waves, but more importantly, it's also home to some of the best surfer fashions to be found on any coast anywhere. Inventory Magazine, managed to get their hands on the hot new Spring/Summer in-house collection from the boutique and, as you can see, it manages to channel the history of surf culture, while not looking the slightest bit dated or beach bum. Matter of fact, we might just take that windbreaker with us to Narragansett, where we're sure to do much more hobbing and nobbing than riding the curls.
