Here's a first look at something we've all been anticipating for some time. Today, Ralph Lauren is launching its luxurious Black Label Denim collection, and—as you can see in the exclusive pictures above—it's a new look for Ralph. We all know this time-tested brand for its high-quality materials and classic, preppy designs. But this collection—featuring dark navys, blacks, and olives—takes the label down a different avenue. With treatments including oven baking, wax coating, whiskering, and nicking, these are less like the luxe ranch-hand jeans from the RRL collection, and more like metal sculptures that just happen to be wearable denim. Accompanying these works of art for the legs are leather shirts, cashmere sweaters, gauzy knits, suede jackets, and fine-cloth pea coats that are, as always with RL, wrought from the best materials. Of course, clothing like this comes with a price: up to $450 for jeans, $350 for shirts, and $1,295 for outerwear. But just look above: isn't it worth it?
