Day 1 of Petty Fest—a festival, as its name suggests, celebrating the music of Tom Petty—commences at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. Expected guest performers include Norah Jones, Ryan Miller of Guster, Tad Kubler of the Hold Steady, and Josh Lattanzi of the Lemonheads.

Swedish indie rockers Peter Bjorn and John play the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles.

Saturday

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart perform at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles.

CSS, Young Liars, Yellow Dogs, are among the acts scheduled to perform at the Culture Collide Block Party in Los Angeles.

Sunday

The Culture Collide Block Party in Los Angeles features another performance from CSS, as well as a set from Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.
