The Jets and the Sharks have been having something of a cultural moment lately (witness the Band of Outsiders' West Side Story-themed show at Pitti Uomo this past June, the multi-episode school-musical arc on Glee), and if you haven't already seen the film, there's no better time than the present, now that the groundbreaking musical was just recently released in Blu-ray format. A commemorative 50th anniversary edition delivers the film in stunningly crisp clarity as part of a four-disc set that also includes a special-features disc, a restored DVD of the film, a tribute CD, and a photo book that documents the making of the film. Here, 20th Century Fox shares with Details an exclusive Blu-ray clip from the film in which assistant director Robert Relyea discusses how incredibly difficult filming the "Cool" scene was.
