Now on display at New York City's Jewish Museum, "The Radical Camera: New York's Photo League, 1936-1951" traces the impact a group of young photographers had during the tumultuous era in U.S. history that spanned the Great Depression, WWII, and the Cold War.

Tuesday, December 13

Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings perform the first of a two-night set at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City.

Wednesday, December 14

My Morning Jacket and Band of Horses play at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Dinosaur Jr. performs Bug in its entirety at the Music Box in Los Angeles. Also on the line-up: an interview with the band conducted by rocker Henry Rollins.

Thursday, December 15

Talib Kweli and Mos Def—under their Black Star moniker—perform at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.

"The Greatest Grid: The Master Plan of Manhattan, 1811-2011," now on display at the Museum of the City of New York, commemorates the 200-year anniversary of the Commissioner's Plan of 1811, which put forward the creation of New York's famous urban design. The exhibit traces the influence the grid had on the growth and development of the city in the two centuries since its introduction; on display through April 15.

The Mountain Goats play at the Troubadour in Los Angeles.

Saturday, December 17

The Hold Steady and Titus Andronicus play at Brooklyn Night Bazaar in New York City.

Baths performs at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles.

Sunday, December 18

The prolific hip-hop collective Wu-Tang Clan perform at the Best Buy Theater in New York City.

In "California Song," photographer and former Dior Homme designer Hedi Slimane explores urban youth culture, capturing moments both poignant and provocative. Now on display at MOCA Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, the collection features series of photographs as well a sonic, motion-photography installation.
