"Hungry Planet: What the World Eats" at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, Seattle (Opens January 28)
A catalog of photographs from ten countries explores the nature of family, culture, and tradition through the food people eat.

"Focus: KAWS" at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Fort Worth (through February 18)
The work of Brooklyn-based artist Brian Donnelly—more commonly known by his KAWS alias—is at the center of this collection, which features his pop-culture-referencing graffiti, murals, sculptures, and paintings.

"Metropolis II" at LACMA, Los Angeles (Ongoing)
On Friday afternoons and weekends the museum plugs in its amazing miniature cityscape, and the tiny cars begin whipping along the six-lane freeway. Very cool.

"Jan Staller: Heavy Duty Landscapes" at ISE Cultural Foundation, New York (Through March 2)
Sixteen large-format photographs depict the chaotic beauty of assorted urban wastelands, recycling plants, roadsides, and construction sites.

Cass McCombs performs at the Bowery Ballroom in New York on Wednesday, January 25.

Wilco play a series of shows in Los Angeles—first at the Hollywood Palladium on Tuesday, January 24, followed by the Wiltern Theatre on Wednesday, January 25 and the Los Angeles Theatre on Friday, January 27.

Los Campesinos play at the Metro in Chicago on Friday, January 27.

Comedian Pete Holmes, perhaps best known for lending his voice to the e*trade baby, performs at the Up Comedy Club in Chicago from Friday, January 27 to Sunday, January 29.


Movies and Television

The second season of gritty historical drama Spartacus premieres on Starz on Friday, January 27.

A group of men stranded in Alaska must fight for survival in The Grey, starring Liam Neeson and opening nationwide Friday, January 27.
