The star of Giuliana and Bill, winner of The Apprentice, and recently named Rogaine ambassador shares his advice on fitness and style.
DETAILS: You're in really great shape—what's
your fitness routine like?
Bill Rancic:
I ran seven miles today in Central Park and then lifted weights for
about 40 minutes at the Equinox spa in the hotel.
DETAILS: That's intense. Do you keep your diet in
check, too?
Bill Rancic: My greatest
weakness is sweets. My wife calls me the Cookie Monster because I can
just go way overboard with cookies and pastries and cakes. I've eaten an
entire pumpkin pie in one sitting.
DETAILS: Wow, you're not kidding. You obviously
don't do that regularly.
Bill
Rancic: No, now I only eat sweets on one weekend a
month—it's like my cheat weekend, and it's not exactly restrained.
I really go to town and basically eat everything sugary I can get my
hands on. I do have to say that now that I'm off the sugar my face looks
better. It's definitely less puffy.
DETAILS: What's your philosophy when it comes to
style?
Bill Rancic: I think the most
important thing you can do is dress to your age and personality. Don't
dress like you're copying someone else, because it just never looks
comfortable.
DETAILS: What are some of your favorite
brands?
Bill Rancic: I like LNA for their T-shirts, and there's this brand
called Moods of Norway that makes these really impressive
custom suits—I'm wearing one now, actually. I'm a real creature of
habit, so when I find something I like I just stock up on it!
DETAILS: Well, you gotta keep up with your
fashionable wife! I know you're sharing hosting duties with Giuliana for
a new show this fall. What's working with her been like?
Bill Rancic: Yes, it's called Ready for Love, and it's been nice to work
together! The truth is that she doesn't sugarcoat things. I'll think I'm
doing well, and she'll just tell me all the things I messed up on, but
she's the pro! It can be tough, but she's doing it out of love and for
all the right reasons.
