A few years ago, I got myself a white polo from Boast, a preppy line of polos, tennis shorts, and tees that had been revived for a new generation of Ivy League aspirants.
It was perfect: a collar that was small enough to wear flipped up (or not), a longer back hem that dropped flatteringly over the seat, and a cheeky Japanese-maple-leaf logo that everyone was convinced looked like, um, something else. I wore that polo all the time—with jeans, with shorts, with chinos and Top Siders.
Then I spilled coffee on it.
No matter—now that it's summer again, I'll be stocking up on a few more, in black, navy, and (yes) white. But this season I'll be more careful with the venti Red Eyes. $68; boastusa.com
