Every week, the street-style expert behind the blog Guerreisms brings you another colorful character from the sidewalks. This week the spotlight is on Trussardi Gordon (pictured).
Men's Clientele Specialist at Club Monaco, cofounder of Truyeroc
What do you have on?
Club Monaco gingham shirt, Club Monaco Kenneth cardigan, RRL jeans, vintage belt, Maurizi double monks, Club Monaco socks, vintage tie, Michael Kors rose-gold watch, truyeroc.com bracelets, H&M blazer (made in Romania), vintage Mark Cross envelope.
Do you have on any sentimental items?
The bracelets. They were the first pieces I created back when I was going through some crazy things in my life. The gemstones in the bracelets remind me that anything can be achieved and keep me focused with my life visions and goals. My style reminds me of my homes in Antigua and the Virgin Islands.
What's the next item you have your eye on?
A great suit—the kind of suit that turns heads when you step in the building—and a great pair of shoes from Crockett and Jones.
Cool hangout spots?
East Village for checking out cool restaurants and vintage spots for cool pieces that bring my outfit and overall look to another level. And I just like just exploring the city on Saturdays to experience it all.
Best advice your mother gave you?
Never try be or follow others, because if you're trying to be someone else, then you eventually lose who you are and what you could possibly bring to others or the world.
Any advice to someone looking to change his style?
Start with the basics—blues, whites, grays, etc. Have a great-fitting pair of jeans and jacket and a great pair of shoes. Keep the mind-set that three very well-fitting shirts are better than nine okay shirts. What would you choose: four Honda Civics or one 2012 BMW?
