After their successful collaboration in 2010, the classic outdoor clothing company Woolrich John Rich & Bros. and the Japanese fashion atelier Nanamica have joined forces again this winter on the Black Mountain Parka, an updated version of Woolrich's original mountain parka.
Aside from tailoring the silhouette, Nanamica swapped the red and black plaid lining for their geometric paisley pattern, but retained Woolrich's iconic buttons from the 1970s bearing the square sheep icon. With three waterproof layers, the Black Mountain Parka is built to last and marks an end to the sartorial search for a warm and functional jacket that's neither too modern nor too retro.
Black Mountain Parka ($995), available December 1, 2012, at Barneys.
