Water-filter news doesn't typically pique our interest, but not only is Soma's new model an aesthetic upgrade to the plastic contraption you probably have in your fridge, the design rocks some serious sustainability cred, too.
David Beeman, the filtration expert who crafted the water formula for Peet's and Starbucks, created a 100% compostable filter made from coconut shells, vegan silk, and food-based PLA plastic. There's even a subscription service that delivers fresh filters to your door every two months.
Right now you can snag a glass carafe plus six months of filters for $45 when you support the project on Kickstarter.
