4 New Men's Fashion Lines to Know

After getting their feet wet at some of the industry's major brands, a fresh crop of young designers are venturing out on their own. Here, four new labels you'll want to add to your closet this season.

J. Press York Street (pictured above)

The Backstory: For J. Press' 110th anniversary, twins Shimon and Ariel Ovadia of Ovadia & Sons launched this luxury line—named for the street on the Yale University campus where America's foremost purveyor of quirky prep was founded—as a tribute to the brand's collegiate roots.
The Aesthetic: A compendium of upscale preppy style, with sack suits, shawl-collar sweaters, and grosgrain ribbon belts that any man with a copy of Take Ivy will covet.

The Backstory: To follow up its successful footwear collaboration with Florsheim, the eccentric New York design duo Duckie Brown (Steven Cox and Daniel Silver) tackles another esteemed American brand with this special designer collection.
The Aesthetic: Elegant, occasionally playful takes on classic American sportswear—including tons and tons of khaki—in a warm, dusty color palette, reportedly inspired by Ellis' personal style.

The Backstory: After reviving Mackintosh—the venerable brand that invented the legendary raincoat—Daniel Dunko and Gary Bott founded their own company in Scotland last year, naming it for the inventor who helped launch the British rubber industry.
The Aesthetic: Contemporary takes on classic British outerwear crafted in vulcanized fabrics—including flannels, cashmeres, silks, and cottons—with clean, minimalist silhouettes.

The Backstory: The designer and former male model Nathan Bogle—who cofounded Rag & Bone with David Neville and Marcus Wainwright but left before it got big—returns with his own line, which strives for maximum simplicity.
The Aesthetic: Instead of the utilitarian, Americana vibe that defined his previous venture, Bogle opts for streamlined, uncluttered pieces, often in daring colors, that betray more than a hint of an eighties influence.
