The fashion marketplace Lyst.com brings its massive style community (7,000 designers strong) to a mobile audience with the newly released Lyst iPhone app.
The Pinterest-like interface makes browsing clothing, shoes, and accessories simple. You can create a "stylefeed" to follow your favorite designers and add specific items in a "lyst" to track prices (they'll send an e-mail the instant it goes on sale in any store worldwide that ships to you). Unsure of what term to search? The "trending" section lets you browse items that other users are following. For example, Givenchy boots from Barney's New York are currently lysted by 24 users.
Pending Apple's approval, the app will showcase a "fashion show" section (it's already live on the website), bringing items from all the fall 2013 shows to one shoppable place—we haven't seen any other app bring runway looks to our online shopping carts so quickly (though we could get used it).
Pros: The interface is clean and simple without sacrificing functionality.
Cons: The amount of content can be overwhelming, so we wish there were more suggested collections to browse, but we recognize it's convenient to start from scratch.
