The Week in Fashion: Scott Schuman's Favorite Street-Style Pics, George Bush Sr.'s Crazy Sock Collection, Paco Rabanne's Naked Australian

The week's top stories in fashion news.

  • Paco Rabanne is trying to shake its stodgy investment-banker image. For its latest campaign, the brand recruited Australian Rugby player Nick Youngest to strip down to his skivvies for "Invictus," the company's newest scent, which comes in a trophy-shaped bottle. The logic, we assume, is that nobody wouldn't want to smell like a half-naked Australian. And they're probably right. (Huffington Post)

  • If you were an '80s baby, your childhood included at least one piece of colorful Original Jams paraphernalia, be it a pair of bright board shorts or fresh sneaks in a squiggly geometric motif. Now, a new generation can enjoy the pleasures of gaudy color-blocking thanks to Filson creative director Maurizio Donadi, who's relaunching the brand with a full range of men's and women's clothing. • We know you got snapped by a street-style photographer that one time in your fancy white brogues on Bowery, but if you want to be a street-style star, check out these tips Mr Porter gleaned from photogs like Scott Schuman and Tommy Ton, who name their favorite shots. Judging by the results, if you want to stand out you better start growing a beard and donning a fedora. (Mr Porter)

  • Of all the pastimes for a former leader of the free world to indulge in, sock collecting is not one we would expect from George Bush Sr. Complex compiled overwhelming evidence of the ex-pres' wacky collection, which ranges from patriotic flag patterns to polka dots. (Complex)

  • Next week the Man show—the brainchild of Antoine Floch, Romain Bernardie James, and Olivier Migda—returns to NYC. The tradeshow, which introduces up-and-coming menswear labels to serious retail prospects, aims to do no less than "offer buyers and press a complete understanding of what men's contemporary fashion is today."
