So you're really into the idea of fingerprint-scanner phone security, love the color gold, desperately need a dual LED flash, and finally decided to throw down some cash on a new iPhone 5s. They're fragile beasts, so you're probably looking to equip it with some kind of case, too. Most retailers sell run-of-the-mill, cheap, plastic, snap-on varieties. But you want something nicer. Leather cases have a more "gentlemanly" vibe and a little less "I bought this from a teenager at a mall kiosk" sensibility.
Vaja Grip Silver ($170)
This model, pictured above, is made from beautiful vegetable-tanned bridge leather with just the right touch of sterling silver. It's also customizable with 10 different interior and exterior color choices, plus monogramming and personalization—though who else in the room is going to have a case this nice?
Truffol Signature Classic ($75)
Made from Italian leather with a rose gold plated sleep/wake button, this slim, minimal option comes in black, red, orange, and two different shades of blue.
Incase Leather Mod Case ($50)
Finally, a rugged yet upscale sheath. The raised back makes for a better grip and adds a few extra style points, too.
Sena Lugano Wallet ($50)
The wallet/phone case hybrid is nothing new (see our roundup of cases for the iphone 4 and 4s), but this leather version from Sena (available in black, brown, red croc embossed and black croc embossed) is especially elegant.
Apple Leather iPhone Case ($40)
Designed in-house by Apple with a slim-as-can-be fit in six distinct colors, this won't be a unique consumer choice, but it won't be a bad one, either—especially since you might be trading up for the rumored six-inch iPhone 6 in less than a year.
