In our ongoing series,Model in the Spotlight, we get up close and personal with the world's leading male models.
By citing Raiden from Mortal Kombat as a style inspiration, Sebastian Sauve makes it clear that he doesn't take himself, or modeling, too terribly seriously. Despite having worked with some of fashion's biggest, brightest, and most eccentric talents (he once had to model a pair of rubber breasts), he's clearly just a regular guy.

We hear you held a lot of odd jobs before you were a model. Name one you'd be happy to never have to do again: Working at a carnival serving elephant ears.
What's the best part about modeling? The free food. I love being able to try things that I would never normally order.

Career highlight: Shooting for Zara with David Sims [about two years ago] was probably my breakthrough campaign.
Career lowlight: Going to a casting and having to put on the same leather thong that all the other previous guys had on.
Do you prefer runway or editorial? Editorial, because it allows room for creativity and more freedom than runway.
What's your secret to walking a runway: I kind of just black out. Someone once told me to walk like I was overly confident, which works for me as well.

Best piece of swag you got to keep: My favorite Jeremy Scott bag.
The one item from your wardrobe you'd save in a fire: My multicolor rain jacket by Phenomenon.
If you could raid anyone's closet, living or dead, whose would it be? Raiden from Mortal Kombat.
What are you wearing on your wrist? Two freckles and a hair.
You never leave home without: My witty sense of humor and quick comebacks.
How do you stay in shape? I never stop moving. I'm constantly fidgeting and burning those calories.
If you weren't modeling you'd be: A chef.
Your best quality: My sense of humor.
Your worst quality: My sense of humor.
If you could change one thing about your body: I'm pretty happy with my body, but I think it would be interesting to be short for a day—like one foot tall and see the world from a new perspective.
The artist getting a lot of play on your iPod right now: Groove Armada.
Best piece of advice you've ever been given? 1. From Jason Kanner, CEO of Soul Artist Management: "Don't try too hard." 2. From my dad: "Find the best-looking girl in the room and dance like her."
