The Week in Fashion: Alexander Wang's New Tokyo Store, Prints Inspired by Justin Timberlake, Canali Suits That Can Take a Beating

The week's top stories in fashion news.

  • Brooklyn-based furniture designers Daniel Hellman and Eric Chang got all gussied up for their first ad campaign with the help of Italian menswear brand Canali. You may find yourself flinching as sawdust coats their perfectly-pressed lapels, but the resulting imagery and behind-the-scenes video are worth a peek. (Hellman-Chang)

  • Add some goodwill to your daily schlep. In 2009, Apolis, an L.A.-based lifestyle brand that creates employment opportunities in economically depressed communities abroad, created a Bangladeshi market bag project that has since grown to support 21 female artisans. Now, sixty communities around the world have signed on to create city specific jute and leather totes, each sold exclusively in their own zip code. At least this'll give you something nice to think about as you struggle home from Trader Joe's. (Apolis Global)

  • Fans of cold, hard, sleek spaces will appreciate the sharp aesthetic at Alexander Wang's stark new Tokyo store, which features amazing marble display blocks and black steel stairs. Boasting three stories in the city's Aoyama District, Wang's newest address is even more impressive than his ritzy Soho flagship. (Racked)

  • You're right to guess that the undulating print stamped across the sleeves of Shoop's latest tracksuits are sound waves. What you might not guess, however, is that the waves were culled from grooves by Justin Timberlake, making your inevitable tracksuit purchase entirely "Justified." (Complex)

  • If you're the kind of shopper that can spend hours customizing a pair of Nike IDs, you're going to obsess over the latest Nordstrom collab. The retailer teamed up with Walk-Over shoes to create a digital design service that lets customers customize their kicks onscreen by picking from a slew of suede uppers, calfskin linings, and EVA outsoles. There goes our weekend. (Nordstrom)
