Working with the nuances of sunlight and shadows is hard enough for cinematographers on Earth. In space, however, light (and sound) play by entirely different rules, a fact Gravity director Alfonso Cuarón—who's already won the Best Director award at the Golden Globes and whose movie has ten Oscar nominations—is only too well aware of.
Just in time for the film's DVD release (you can watch it on Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, or Digital HD), Cuarón shares an exclusive early glimpse at one of the bonus features. We also hear from CG lighting supervisor Paul Beilby and additional compositing supervisor Kyle McCulloch about the film's complicated lighting schematics in a technical clip that shows just how painstaking it was to create Gravity.
Gravity arrives on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD on February 25.
