We Want It: The Nato Watch Strap

The nato strap—a nylon band that runs under a watch's case and is held in place by two spring bars—was standard-issue for the British Ministry of Defence during the Cold War era.

In the past couple of years, it's experienced a mini revival, showing up in J.Crew catalogs and on the wrists of Rolex diehards. And now the utilitarian style is getting an upgrade, with watchmakers like Dior Homme and Shinola (pictured) cutting equally functional versions in supple leathers.
