Because creative polymath and former Details cover guy Pharrell Williams just can't stop making things (he just released an album, he's got a fragrance coming out in September, and just this year he's collaborated with Uniqlo and Adidas), we've decided to start keeping track of all of his artistic endeavors. This week, he's working on a book—but it won't actually get published unless you do something about it.
To promote Inspiration—a follow-up to his 2012 tome Places and Spaces I've Been—Pharrell has partnered with a brand of white out—as in the pen "eraser"—called Tippex (made by the same people who provide your office supply room with all those BIC pens).
The book has already been written, but the marketing backstory goes like this: In order to protect the book from an unnamed outside evil that seeks to tear it asunder, the pages of Inspiration have been erased with white out. The citizens of the world are asked to fill in the blanks in an online version of the book. If you successfully guess the missing words, based on either clues or context, you'll get credited when it comes out in print.
And because it simply wouldn't do to present the concept in a straightforward, matter-of-fact kind of way, Tippex enlisted two actors to play a hunter and a bear to introduce the project. You can watch the video below, or dive right into the Mad Libs-like task of filling in the book here.
