#PharrellWatch: A Look at His "GIRL" Exhibition in Paris

It's been a big week for our good friend Pharrell Williams, who, as we've discussed before, can't stop and won't stop making music, fashion, or headlines. But of all the times he's been in the news this week (he's a new coach on the reality singing show The Voice, he wore a Mickey Mouse bandage on his chin at the Time 100 gala, and he even revealed that his hit song "Happy" was originally intended for CeeLo Green), the story we're most excited about is the exhibit he's curating at the Galerie Perrotin in Paris.

Just like his new album and the fragrance he's creating with Comme des Garçons, the exhibition is called "GIRL." It features nearly 40 works of art that celebrate women, including 10 produced specifically for this show. Gregor Hildebrandt's Marilyn in Mirror (After A.W.) will be on view, and so is a Takashi Murakami portrait of Williams and his wife, Helen (above). Other artists in the exhibit include Marina Abramović, Daniel Arsham, KAWS, and Tracy Emin.

While "GIRL" isn't the first time Pharrell has worked with Galerie Perrotin (he staged a 2008 show there called "Perspectives," which featured some really cool chairs), it will be the first exhibit to go up in the gallery's newest space, Salle de Bal, a former ballroom at the Hôtel du Grand Veneur in the Marais district.

"GIRL" will be on view May 27 through June 25, but if you can't make it to Paris, you can take a look at a few of the pieces below.
