Someone Finally Put a Tracking Device in a Good-Looking Pair of Shades

Never, ever lose your sunglasses again.

To put it simply, the realization that you've lost a pair of rather expensive sunglasses really, really sucks. But a new company called Tzukuri is out to make sure that that never happens to anyone ever again.

The Australian eyewear brand has developed a line of $350 sunglasses embedded with Apple's iBeacon chips. They're solar-powered and use Bluetooth Low Energy to connect with your iPhone (the Android version is in the works), so you never have to worry about the chip losing power. The shades will be available for pre-order soon and will reportedly be released by the end of the year.

Here's how it works: If your phone moves more than 16 feet away from your sunglasses, it will start sending you notifications that you've left them behind. If you go any farther than that, your phone can plot their last location on a map, making them easier to track down.

The collection, which is handcrafted in Japan, includes six models named after style icons like Atticus Finch, JFK, Tom Ford, John Lennon, Princess Grace of Monaco, and Truman Capote. They're all good-looking frames, but the Fords and the Finches in particular are so attractive that we doubt they'll spend much time off your face.
