Well Suited: Study (Sorta) Confirms that Wearing a Nice Suit Makes Monday Bearable

Beat the blues with a wardrobe change? You bet.

In this edition of Well Suited, we assess the scientific basis of the claim that the right tie and jacket just might lift your spirits enough to be statistically significant.

Mondays, for lack of a better word, suck. But instead of sulking to your coworkers about your awesome weekend had to come to an end, you could simply put on a really good suit and get to work.

A study in the Journal of Experimental Psychology suggests that clothes we associate with success and intelligence may just make us feel smarter. And we submit that there's no higher marker of either quality—for us, anyway—than a really great suit created by a master designer, like this textured, bright blue number from Tom Ford's Spring 2014 collection.

If it's too late to go back home and change, well, there's always tomorrow.
