This Week in Fashion: The World's Oldest Pants Found in China, Hussein Chalayan Is Bringing Back Menswear

Over 3,000 years old and still sort of on-trend.

The week's top stories in fashion news.

  • Talk about vintage. Archaeologists digging around in China's Yanghai Tombs complex found a pair of pants that are estimated to be 3,000 years old. The wool trousers are thought to have been made for a horseback rider and were created around the time pants were first invented. And they might just be among the world's first bespoke pieces: They were made on a loom, rather than cut from cloth, to the exact measurements of the intended wearer. (NBC)
  • After eight years of focusing exclusively on the ladies, Hussein Chalayan will return to menswear with a 22-look spring 2015 capsule collection called Moor's Chorus. Chalayan describes it as "clothing I would wear. The fit is important—we worked a lot on that." (Fashion Times)
  • Mr Porter has more up its sleeves than that well-designed collaboration with WOOYOUNGMI. Starting on June 23, the site will become the first third-party retailer to sell Google Glass. Each of the three bundles available will set you back $1,650. (Mr Porter)
  • Louis Vuitton has called in the big guns to celebrate its 160th anniversary. Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Louboutin, and Rei Kawakubo are among the creatives designing bags and luggage for Vuitton's "The Icon and the Iconoclasts" project. The bags are set to hit stores in mid-October. (Louis Vuitton)
  • In case you were wondering what British menswear houses like E. Tautz and Pringle of Scotland have in store for their upcoming presentations in London, you can now find out. Eighteen designers revealed the inspiration behind their collections, along with a few sketches that shed light on what's in store. (WWD)
  • If you're going to be anywhere near New York's SoHo neighborhood this weekend, keep an eye out for people wearing bright-red shirts that say #AlessiLovesSoho. The Italian design company will cap off a week of celebrations that include free cooking demonstrations and wine tastings. It's even giving away a 90-second all-you-can-grab shopping spree. (Alessi)
