They say it's an honor just to be nominated for a CFDA Award, so the rest of this week's "Well Suited" posts will spotlight the designers who didn't take home one of this year's trophies but still looked damn stylish applauding the winner.
The nineties left cargo pants with a really bad rap, but great designers like Rag & Bone's Marcus Wainwright and David Neville have been rendering slimmer and more interesting versions in recent seasons. Their spring 2014 collection featured such a pair, worn as the bottom half of a suit with some serious graphic appeal.
A black-and-white geometric print was applied to the pants, jacket, and even the shoes styled with them. It's the quiet boldness of looks like this that has earned the designers multiple nominations and two past wins at the CFDA Awards.
