Every week we dive into the pool of celebrity Instagram posts to see what our favorite actors, artists, writers, musicians, DJs, designers, and notorious selfie-takers are posting. Below are recent shots that captured our attention—because they're funny, telling, timely, or all of the above.
1. Derek Blasberg
"Phew, I thought I was going to be the biggest dork at tonight's screening of Ghostbusters," confessed fashion writer Derek Blasberg at the outdoor movie screening at NYC's Hudson River Park. But as it turned out, he had nothing to fear. He ain't afraid of no ghosts, either.
2. Hamish Robertson
"A less than supreme morning," observed L.A.-based artist and photographer Hamish Robertson of this messy (but ironic!) Manhattan street scene circa 2007. On the bright side: At least there wasn't any traffic that day.
3. Richard Melville Hall
"Yesterday I visited the Lower East Side Girls' Club," recalled the artist also known as Moby. "This is our well thought-out competition to Beats by Dre." Yeah, good luck with that.
4. Kris Van Assche
What's up with the homemade Dior detour? Belgian designer Kris Van Assche didn't want any models getting lost en route to the Paris shoot for Dior Homme's Spring 2015 catalogue. (We're assuming that they did anyway.)
5. Chris John Millington
How do male models pass the time in between fashion shoots? In the case of tall, dark, and bearded Scotsman Chris John Millington: "Bed selfies." He was catching up on his beauty sleep before shooting the new campaign for Diesel.
6. Joe Zee
Self-described "fashion stylist, world traveller and overpacker" Joe Zee lives the suite life. "Do not disturb," was the caption on this pic of his pooch enjoying the perks of a high-end hotel. Zee's tip for traveling in style? Don't be that guy who walks around the airport wearing his "neck pillow as an accessory."
7. Tim Biskup
"This painting . . . can be a constant reminder to question everything that you know and make choices that defy reason and satisfy your need for change and chaos," says American artist Tim Biskup. And if you don't agree, then F.U.
8. Cristiano Ronaldo
Real men masque. Just ask Portuguese soccer stud Cristiano Ronaldo, who isn't shy about his fondness for beauty rituals, including those precisely plucked eyebrows. Fortunately he resisted the urge to share shots of his body-waxing sessions.
9. Dan Savage
How to make sense of the reserved seating signs in Glasgow? Sex advice columnist Dan Savage took a stab at deciphering the semiotics: "These seats are reserved for armless pregnant women and the dirty old men who love them," he concluded.
10. Cara Delevingne
Whether it's making out with Michelle Rodriguez or licking an emergency switch, you never know what kooky Cara Delevingne and her tongue are going to do next! Note the poster courtesy of DKNY HR imploring employees to "help keep out fraud, waste, abuse...or illegal activity in our workplace." How about troublemaking supermodels?
11. Lupita Nyong'o
"Nobody said being on the cover would be easy," Lupita Nyong'o wrote of her snakecharmer-inspired photo shoot for Vogue. "#FightYourFearAndWin," added the Oscar-winning actress, who quickly shook off her icky accessory and ran away.
12. Karl Lagerfeld
"Get ready to meet Miss Barbie Lagerfeld this fall!" warned legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld of his forthcoming Chanel-to-Mattel makeover. Feminist fashionistas can hardly wait.
13. Zac Efron
Check out Zac Efron's impressive range: One minute the shirtless young actor is rappelling down a cliff alongside butch Bear Grylls, the next he's literally getting in touch with his feminine side as "Brittany" for Jimmy Fallon's "Ew!" skit. Will the real Zac Efron please stand up?
