The Three Biggest Takeaways From the Spring 2015 Menswear Shows in Europe

Here's what got our fashion editors talking this season.

Now that the European menswear shows from Spring 2015 have ended, our fashion team is taking a look back at the best of what we saw come down the runway.

Details fashion director Matthew Marden said the entire season fell on a spectrum between two shows: Prada's structured, moody clothes and Dries Van Noten's dance inspired, superfluid collection. "They were my two favorite shows of the season, and I thought they really showed us a good idea of where menswear is going," he said.

For our style director Eugene Tong, this season underscored the ever-increasing importance of sportswear. "The most indicative thing is how every single show showed a version of a sneaker," he said.

Senior market editor Justin Berkowitz's favorite collection came from Junya Watanabe, who focused on workwear and featured more shades of blue than you could count at a glance. "The show was almost entirely indigo blue and done with this really beautiful Japanese interpretations of how you use indigo."
