This Week in Fashion: Jimmy Choo Hires Jon Snow, Kanye West's Latest Collection For APC
You didn't think we'd let a major holiday stop us from rounding up the most important stories of the week, did you?
The week's biggest stories in fashion news.
Kit Harington sure has come a long way from The Wall. The Game of Thrones star takes center stage Jimmy Choo's Fall 2014 campaign, and will also be the face of the brand's first men's fragrance. The scent will debut later this summer in a bottle shaped like a flask. If only the cap were shaped like a direwolf. (Jimmy Choo)
Noted fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski made headlines this week when he announced that he's royalty (his title is His Serene Highness) and released his first book, Notes For a Young Prince. The book is filled with guidance on behavior and comportment, and 100 percent of its proceeds will be donated to charity. It's a pretty good first public move as a member of the nobility, eh? (Vanity Fair)
Kanye West's second collection for APC will find its way to stores around the world on July 17. But will it be the last time the singer and the French brand link up? APC chief Jean Touitou is reportedly growing weary of collaborations, so this capsule may be West's siren song. (Complex)
The Barneys connection was only the beginning for Russell Westbrook's chummy relationship with fashion. The 25-year-old basketball star will debut his own eyewear brand, created in collaboration with Selima Optique, on July 8. The ten styles in the collection, which were inspired by Californian neighborhoods like Brentwood and Pasadena, range in price from $95 to $145. (Style.com)
Calvin Klein's unisex scent ckOne is back with a new ad featuring musicians Dev Hynes, Evian Christ, Kalela, and Samantha Urbani. Lensed by Mario Sorrenti, the clip looks like a series of iPhone videos that were artfully mashed together and jumps from Hynes' bedroom to Christ's night out. (Huh Magazine)
