Best Celebrity Instagrams of the Week: Chris Pratt, Tyler Posey, and 10 others

In this edition: Chris Pratt gets pampered, Tyler Posey picks a fight, and a good-looking #TBT of Biden back in the day.

Every week we dive into the pool of celebrity Instagram posts to see what our favorite actors, artists, writers, musicians, DJs, designers, and notorious selfie-takers are posting. Below are recent shots that captured our attention—because they're funny, telling, timely, or all of the above.

1. Chris Pratt

Chris Pratt appears to be getting the hang of this movie star thing. "Backstage @Letterman," he wrote, looking not unlike one of the masked killers from The Purge: Anarchy. "I'm wearing this creepy mask because it will make me look more radiant?" Then—with tongue firmly planted in cheek—the Guardians of the Galaxy's leading man added: "#Baller."

2. Mark McNairy

Even the man who has been hailed as "the most in-demand shoe designer on earth" is at a loss when it comes to this superstrict dress code. "Gosh, what can I wear?" wondered the footwear guru Mark McNairy, using his preferred nom de plume McNasty.

3. Tyler Posey

"Sup bitch, you hungry?" is how California native Tyler Posey, AKA MTV's Teen Wolf, captioned this photo taken during downtime in the hair and makeup chair. Incidentally, over on Twitter, Tyler Posey's Abs happen to have their own account: "I'm the beauty under @tylergposey's shirt."

4. Edward Wilding

And hey, speaking of abs: Here is a moody selfie from British model Edward Wilding. "I've been growing myself a little pair of titties," he joked. Seriously, though, that rockin' bod is no laughing matter. To get the look in time for Labor Day weekend—Wilding's "Adonis Belt" is the new six-pack—check out our failproof four-part workout plan.

5. Zak Shelhamer
05-zak-shelhamer.jpg

San Francisco-based photographer, filmmaker and globetrotting traveler Zak Shelhamer shares snapshots of his adventures sailing, surfing and snowboarding all over the world. That said, his choice mode of transportation is neither plane, train, nor automobile: It's a hog. "The steel horse carries on," he said of this one-handed selfie taken on the open road. Don't try this at home, kids.

6. Misha Collins

Misha Collins, the self-proclaimed "actor, baker and candlestick maker," may play an angel on the CW series Supernatural, but off camera he indulges in bad behavior. "They take jaywalking seriously in San Diego," he noted. Police brutality or improvisational comedy? We're assuming that the cops are in on the joke since obnoxious celebrities are welcomed rather than tasered during the city's annual nerdapalooza known as Comic-con.

7. Richard Koci Hernandez

Capturing enigmatic images in black and white is the specialty of Richard Koci Hernandez. Not surprisingly, he's an assistant professor of new media at UC Berkeley's graduate school of journalism—and he was twice nominated for a Pulitzer during his former career as a photojournalist. Hernandez's caption for this Lake Tahoe pic is similarly poetic: "Cry. Forgive. Learn. Move on. Let your tears water the seeds of your future happiness," he wrote, quoting the inspirational author Steve Maraboli.

8. Simone Bramante

The Italian photographer titled this Dreams & Ice Creams. "A day spent in Florence with a lovely and funny couple," he says of the whimsical scene. "Good-natured people," he added. "The kind I prefer, definitely." More than 500,000 people follow the guy so he's doing something right.

9. David Maialetti

Maialetti's Instagram feed focuses on the city of Brotherly Love—the darkness as well as the unexpected beauty. Professionally, he shoots for the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Philadelphia Daily News. But off the clock, it's purely art for art's sake, as in this photo of a resident of the Philly neighborhood known as Fishtown riding around a shadowy skatepark.

10. Alister Mackie

The eyes have it! Fashion stylist Alister Mackie—creative director of Another Man magazine and executive editor of British fashion bible Dazed & Confused—has an eye for spotting striking imagery, as evidenced by his decidedly quirky and colorful Instagram feed.

11. Michael S. Smith

Before the former model reinvented herself as a domestic goddess and lifestyle tycoon, Martha Stewart was a stone-cold fox. Nostalgic interior designer Michael S. Smith—best known for giving the Oval Office a makeover for the Obamas—shared this photo on the occasion of Stewart's 73rd birthday.

12. Joe Biden
12-joe-biden.jpg

And who knew that Joe Biden was such a stud back in the day (as proven by this #TBT photo)? "For all the 26-year-olds, short-sleeve button-downs are making a comeback, but health care has never gone out of style," said our fashion-conscious VP. "Don't forget to #GetCovered," he stressed.
