A Gym With a View
Whether it's the heart of Rome, the African bush, or a white-sand beach, these hotel gyms provide the world's most motivating vantage points.
La Mamounia, Marrakech
Winston Churchill's favorite spot was the lush gardens at La Mamounia. (He told Franklin D. Roosevelt that the hotel is "The loveliest place on Earth.") Today, politicians and celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker, Orlando Bloom, and Jennifer Aniston flock to the property for its Art Deco–meets-Morocco architecture. The gym looks out on the hotel's 20 acres of gardens circled by walls painted electric blue—evoking Yves Saint Laurent's Majorelle Garden in town. When the weather is nice, take a dip in the two ornate Moorish-style pools. They're treated with nonirritating ozone instead of chlorine, imparting a fresh post-rainstorm (not chemical) smell.
