Anglophiles swooned over Dancy in the lush costume dramas Elizabeth I and Daniel Deronda; rom-com fans crushed on him in cinematic candy like Ella Enchanted and Confessions of a Shopaholic. But suddenly Dancy seems to be everywhere: In the upcoming film Hysteria, he's an M.D. tinkering with Victorian-era vibrators; on Showtime's The Big C, he drags Laura Linney to gay bars; and on Broadway in Venus in Fur, he plays a brooding playwright engaging in erotic S&M games with a bustier-clad blonde (Nina Arianda). Those tortured (and torturing) artists will get you every time.
