Casting directors tend to sit around and lament, "What ever happened to all the leading men?" Well, you know Connick can sing. Plus, he's got the chiseled-jaw-broad-shoulders thing happening. As he proved in the 2006 revival of The Pajama Game, he can pull off a few Fosse-style dance steps without looking like a dork.
