Portlandia: 20 Exclusive Behind the Scenes Photos—Shot by Carrie Brownstein!
We gave former Sleater-Kinney guitarist and current alt-comedienne Carrie Brownstein a camera to document the left-of-center oddballs who populate Portlandia, IFC's hilarious sketch show, back for a second season in January. Brownstein and co-star Fred Armisen (of Saturday Night Live) may look normal (see photo #1), but tune in to see them dreadlocked, mustached, and defying gravity.
Season two of Portlandia premieres January 6th on IFC.

This photo is of Fred and me. We met in 2003 and became instant friends. I was still in [Sleater-Kinney], and he'd been in a band called Trenchmouth before he started comedy. So we just kinda traversed the same paths and the same people. We've been friends ever since.
