Just then, a Ping-Pong ball comes ricocheting across the room, launched by one of the idling photo assistants, and it comes to a stop beneath the bench on which Worthington is sitting. It's not the first time this has happened. "You suck," one player says to the young woman who whiffed the ball, to which she replies, "I do. I do suck." As she approaches Worthington, who's digging under the table to fetch the ball, she says, "I'm so embarrassed." He tosses the Ping-Pong ball back to her, and then, as if talking to the guy in the mirror four years ago and divulging a credo applicable to far more than table tennis, he tells her, "Don't be embarrassed. Get better."
