When associate editor Laurence Lowe (above, center) traveled to Mexico to watch 12-year-old matador Michelito Lagravere at a bullfight, he was quickly enveloped by the prodigy's family. "We stayed at the same hotel," Lowe says. "They were a few doors down, and at night everyone hung out in the courtyard, drinking beers and singing." When the sun came up, Michelito was all business in the ring, but Lowe saw another side of him. "At one point he kept tapping me on one shoulder and disappearing behind the other. He is unmistakably still a boy."
