Breaking Bad: A Brief History on Gay Divorce

A lesbian couple in Ontario become Canada's first same-sex divorcées. Initially, the application hits snags. While same-sex marriage was legal, the federal Divorce Act hadn't caught up and still defined spouse as "either of a man or a woman who are married to each other." A justice from the Ontario Superior Court rules that the definition of spouse is unconstitutional and the divorce goes through.
