David Bailey became England's most famous photographer with the release of the 1964 book Box of Pin-Ups—a collection of poster-size images of Swinging London scenesters like Mick Jagger, Rudolf Nureyev, and infamous East End gangsters the Kray twins—and continued to leave his mark on the pages of British and American Vogue. Now the 76-year-old is being celebrated with a career-spanning exhibition at London's National Portrait Gallery. "Bailey's Stardust" features more than 250 indelible shots of musicians, models, and mobsters, selected by Bailey himself and rendered in resplendent silver-gelatin prints.

Exhibition runs from February 6–June 1; npg.org.uk
