Guide to Tribeca Film Festival 2013: 20 Must-See Narratives and Documentaries

We've narrowed down the 150+ films screening at the Tribeca Film Festival this year (April 17–28) to the essentials. Here, the features we'll be first in line for.

The English Teacher (Narrative)
Director: Craig Zisk
Starring: Julianne Moore, Michael Angarano, Greg Kinnear, Lily Collins, Nathan Lane
Why We'll Be First in Line: The world premiere stars Moore as a lonely but passionate English teacher who helps mount a former student's play as a high-school production after he fails to produce it as a professional playwright. Though this is his feature-length debut, Zisk has directed episodes for women-on-the-verge cablers Weeds, The Big C, and The United States of Tara, making him more than equipped to do offbeat dramedy. And with a cast that includes the always-captivating Moore, the always-game Angarano, and the scenery-chewing Lane, we almost wish the story had landed on Showtime so that we could watch a whole season of it instead.
