The Message: When you're playing on someone else's social, cultural, or generational turf, never hide your identity. Use that outsider status to your advantage, and win points with a personal gesture. You'll get extra credit for assuming the recipient will be hip to that gesture, no matter how foreign it may seem—it's flattering.
