Ed Chai and Paul Birardi saw a serious gap in the menswear market in 2005, and they decided to bridge it by opening their store Odin New York. Almost 10 years later, there are three locations (including a women's shop). And while the retailers don't hew to one aesthetic, Birardi says they demand the same three things from all the brands they sell: "Quality, fit, and overall design."
It's that flexibility that has allowed them to offer a diverse range of brands, from Rag & Bone to Public School, since they set up shop. As Chai puts it, "It's really important for us to stay true to what we like, but also be adaptable and not moved too much by trends."read more
