The biggest mistake a man can make when dressing is following other peopleís advice. Itís up to him. Even if he ends up badly dressed, if heís happy, itís okay.

I like to shop in small places that still have an identity—places that you can find only in a particular town or city. Itís difficult, but you just have to walk around and not go to the usual places.

Donít wear black underwear. Black is the absence of light, and hygienically itís bad. White is the best.

If you see something you like, it doesnít matter whether itís out of fashion. Iíve bought things when they were out of style and I was very proud to wear them. If you like foie gras, you wouldnít not eat it because itís out of fashion.

Usually we dress comfortably when we are at home, when we are in private. I donít split those moments—itís always about comfort.

Itís all about the silhouette in the end. Iím wearing a shorter, skinnier jacket these days. But if you like yourself to look nice and chunky, like a hamburger, perfect.

Itís okay to wear jeans at the office. You can wear them with nobility. If youíre a junkie, you can wear a suit and youíll still look like a junkie.

From the ages of 18 to 25, I wore a tie, but then I stopped. I didnít wear one for years. I tried again last year because I like skinny ties. I put one on, looked at myself in the mirror, and said, ďWho the fuck is that?Ē At least I tried.

I like to write to people by hand when I have important things to say. Today I spent all morning writing. I wrote 40 letters. Sometimes I use paper from the 15th century. I usually write with a fountain pen, but sometimes I use crayons or even wax pencils.

My signature drink is a Bloody Mary. I love it so much that when I was a student in England, Iíd have one in the morning with my bacon and eggs.
