Diesel's lighting for Foscarini may evoke the same industrial edge as its clothing, but pinholes cut into the steel shade of its Perf task lamp emit a warm glow when the bulb is turned on.

Created in 1960 to double as an ashtray holder for Copenhagen's SAS Royal Hotel, Arne Jacobsen's AJ table lamp, with its sloped steel shade, has since secured its place in homes everywhere.
