Dad doesn't need another sweater—or a bottle of scotch. Check out these smart alternatives to the usual suspects.
Instead of scotch:
Pour him Bols Barrel Aged Genever, a 19th-century ginlike Dutch spirit that's actually created to satisfy a whiskey lover's palate. The stuff is triple distilled in copper pots, then blended with botanicals (like juniper, licorice, and cloves) and aged in French barrels for at least 18 months. The elixir is finally bottled in earthenware jugs. The finished product pours golden in color with a woodsy flavor more in line with bourbon than gin.
